What Nathan's clients say...
Nathan Devine has published two books over his career, with the most successful being "Retrash" which was featured in the New York Times, gaining worldwide acclaim promoting the upcycling movement focusing on reducing landfill.
Nathan Devine, the founder of Retrash.com, likes to point out that his new book, also called âRetrash,â is printed on 100 percent recycled paper. This is fitting: The illustrated, self-published book, which was financed through a crowdfunding site, celebrates the work of 82 artists and designers who use recycled materials. Like Jason Podlaski, who makes furniture from broken skateboard decks, and Gilles Eichenbaum, who turns teakettles into stunningly delicate lamps.
Mr. Devine, who is an Australia-based graphic designer and an upcycler himself (he transforms old suitcases into music speaker boxes, among other things), said âRetrashâ ($44.95) is less a how-to manual than a showcase for artistic upcycling. âIt will give you insight into these artistsâ backgrounds, how they got into it,â he said. âItâs really an inspirational body of work.â
